Modern problems call for modern solutions, and this new age is all about ease and convenience, as people try to find comfort and ease. The same nature has come into what we look to eat and drink. That is one of the biggest reasons why energy sports drinks have become so popular. Often regarded as the best invention after sliced bread, these drinks give you an instant fit of energy, with ease. There are so many new energy drinks hitting the market every year that it is hard to keep up. Fans are always split when it comes to regarding which is the best one. Therefore, this time around, we are going to be doing a head to head of Bang Vs. Reign, to figure out which is the best one!
The Popularity Of Energy Drinks
More and more people in the US are now becoming more aware of diets, nutrition, and the benefits of following a healthier lifestyle. As a result of such increased awareness, fewer people are now buying drinks that contain a lot of sugar. Therefore, most people now prefer to opt for zero-calorie, zero-carb energy drinks, which has led to them becoming immensely popular. As soda sales continue to drop, there has been a sharp increase in the sales of no sugar energy drinks. Studies show that even after the FDA and the media remained wary and critical of healthy beverages, their sales rose by 4.1% in 2018. Therefore, it is safe to say that a lot of people feel that these drinks are healthy and safe to drink. But is this true? If so, which is the best energy drink out there? Let us take a look at the head-to-head between Reign and Bang!
Battle of the Sports Drinks: Bang Vs. Reign
Bang Vs. Reign Factor 1- Contents
The revolutionary BANG Drink contains over 300mg of caffeine in their 16-ounce can. VPX also adds EAA and BCAA amino acids to the drink to aid with muscle recovery. There are also trace amounts of creatine, which helps with muscle endurance and building. Further additions include CoQ10 for bettering heart health and flavoring agents that allow the drink to be available in over 18 different flavors.
Meanwhile, when we come to Reign Total Body drink, we see that it contains a lot of things that BANG has in it, but there are slight variations. For instance, while BANG relies on anhydrous caffeine, Reign makes use of natural caffeine in their drink. However, this means that since your body has to first digest the caffeine, it will take longer to have an effect on you. While fans believe that this makes Reign more natural and healthy, others think that this makes the drink less intense when compared to BANG! Next, Reign contains no creatine but does add electrolytes to help with extra hydration. Also, like with BANG, Reign too contains BCAAs and CoQ10. Furthermore, BANG contains a superior form of B12 called methylcobalamin, whereas Reign uses cyanocobalamin.
Bang Vs. Reign Factor 2- Company
As we all know, Reign is a total body fuel drink made by Monster, which is one of the world’s most popular sports drink manufacturers. Reign is their healthier option, as it contains zero sugars and calories, but comes packed with 300mg of caffeine! Since it is a fuel energy drink, it also contains other additives that help make it healthier and more nutritious.
Whereas Bang is a new player in the field, with manufacturer VPX having taken off tremendously after breaking into the scene a few years back. While they might not have a huge name supporting them, they have been able to make a niche for themselves in the field, and continue to hold ground.
Bang Vs. Reign Factor 3- Competition
When VPX broke into the scene and gained popularity due to their healthier mixture, Monster saw their numbers fall. As a result, they decided to launch their own line of healthier energy drinks, which contain less sugar and carbs. Aside from doing this, they also filed a lawsuit against VPX. The new company then responded with a countersuit, which they filed back against Monster. Soon after this, Monster came out with their Reign range of energy drinks, as a way of competing head-to-head against BANG.
Many of the lawsuits filed against BANG have to do with the questionable claims they make, such as the wording on every can – “Super Creatine.” VPX claims that the consumption of
Creatinyl-l-leucine dipeptide leads to the release of creatine and leucine in the stomach. They also claim that this creatine can be absorbed by the body, like how the standard amino acid would be absorbed. However, studies show that isn’t what happens when people take in Creatinyl-l-leucine dipeptide. Therefore, both Monster and ThermoLife have sued BANG for promoting false claims. However, rather than backing down, BANG filed a suit against Monster for using the name Reign as VPX claims it is a name they use. According to BANG CEO Jack Owoc, the company has a drink named Reign, which they released earlier than Monster.

As you can see, there is little that sets both these companies apart. The only significant difference seems to be the Vitamin C in BANG and the fact that it has a lot more flavors than Reign. Therefore, this battle might go to BANG due to these reasons. However, the lawsuits filed, if proven to be accurate, will hit their credibility, and their claim to be the healthiest drink out there might suffer as a result of that. But, we need to understand that WATER is the healthiest drink out there. If you want to switch to a healthier lifestyle, cut out such drinks from your diet, and switch to plain water!
